Words Aren’t Enough

By: Brett

There isn’t anything I can say about the recent events at Virginia Tech. I have been left completely speechless over just the sorrow and utter shock all of those students have experienced. I try and picture myself in their situation and I completely shut down. To hear about the heroes that rose up and helped save many other students, while losing their own. To hear a student talk about his professor, how he saved the entire class, but believed he never made it out himself. To listen to a survivor that laid on the ground pretending to be dead while witnessing the series of events.

These students were just like you and me, with friends and families, pictures and memories. My prayers go out to all of the students, their families, that community and really everyone, because with something like this that was so unexpected it’s impossible to justify.

At first, I thought VT was doomed with these events, but then seeing how the entire campus and community have joined together, it has only made them stronger. Just as amazing as these horrible events have been, it’s also amazing seeing the entire student body join together and lean on each other for support and comfort through these drastic times. My thoughts and prayers go out to them all.
