Why Do They Refuse To Believe?

I am baffled as to why people don’t think we as humans are effecting the climate changes and destroying are planet. Douche bag Sean Hannity uses the excuse of people that are speaking out on this issue, ie Gore, DiCaprio, Kennedy.. all use private jets and are hypocrites. Sure I believe they shouldn’t be using private jets either but that seems to be his go to defense on this issue. Let’s debunk their documentaries and such because they fly in a private jet sometimes. He mentions in this video that we have enough oil reserve for the next 30 years. AWESOME! So pretty much let’s just worry about the time we’re on earth and not for the generations to come.
I’m sorry but it takes a real arrogant person to think they aren’t doing any harm to the earth and that we don’t need to do anything now to help reverse the process. I believe people need to make it sound like a life or death situation because if you tell someone oh well we need to gradually make changes because a few years down the road things could start to go bad.. NO! We need to hear that if we stay on this path, our environment is going to change dramatically unless we do something about it.
You can look at it in a couple ways. Say we start making changes now and everything about Global warming was right.. well good for us, pat us on the back we saved the Earth. Say we make changes now and Global Warming is a fluke.. we’re out a bunch of money but nothing where people are losing lives and completely chaos. Alright well let’s say we don’t do a damn thing and Global warming doesn’t exist.. awesome, good for us. We didn’t need to change our lives and saved some money. Okay well let’s not do anything and Global Warming does exist.. WHAM! The whole earth goes into completely chaos you have millions of people die from rising water levels, drastic storms, populations being condensed even more so.. The earth as we know it is dying.
So the drastic ends from each decision: We change, we lose money.. We don’t change, and the Earth is never the same again while millions of people die. Which choice do you choose?

I actually watch Hannity’s show and it’s obvious that he does care about the enviornment. He just takes issue with the people who act like their hair is on fire about it and try to use the issue for political and or financial gain.
And yes, before you lead a cause about global warning, you should get your house in order before you judge anyone elses.
Gore, DiCaprio and Kennedy are big freaking hypocrites if they use 20 times the amount of energy as the average Joe. It kills their source credibility with me…. not my opinion that we should all be better stewards of Mother Earth.

I’ve seen his show many times and when he talks about these Global Warming issues all he has to say is that Gore etc. are hypocrites for flying private jets, and that he’s talked with many scientists and climatologists that debunk Global Warming.. how is that caring about Global Warming?
You can even see in that video when he says we can be dependent on Oil for the next 30 years like “We’re Ok.”
He doesn’t give any suggestions of his own on how to break away from crude oil and start using alternatives. All of his time is spent bashing the other side instead of explaining his views.

The way Hannity talks about this whole issue and makes it seems like such a horrible thing to travel on Private jets.. he himself is the King of Private travel.

Hannity yet again bashes Gore mocking the whole idea of Carbon Offsets.. yet always fails to mention that his boss Mr. Murdoch himself purchasing Carbon Offsets for the same reasons.. Odd.

Do you even listen to or watch Hannity’s shows? Or do you just get your info about him from left wing web sites that take his statements out of context to try and discredit him? If you actually watch his shows and feel this way - I’ll apologize….

I watch Hannity and Colmes quite often actually. And would like to know how watching unedited videos straight from Fox News is taking stuff out of context.

Al Gore has single-handedly destroyed a necessary facet of Science: the zealous questioning of scientific hypotheses. Not only does questioning assure accuracy, but it also elevates science itself to a field from which public policy can be based. However, Gore, comedian’s wives, singers, and Leonardo DiCaprio publicly state that the debate is over regarding man-made global warming. As such, we should now make drastic changes that will undoubtedly place an insurmountable economic burden on us all.
Whether or not Global Warming exists, is a problem, and is man-made, should not only be debated, but nothing could be more anti-science than to prevent the questioning of its assertions. Rest assured that whenever you are told that a scientific theory is based on the number of people who agree with its findings, you know you’re being propagandized.
First, let’s examine the data. This entire global warming panic is based on a correlative study, as CO2 goes up or down, so does temperature. (This is the part of Al Gore’s slide show where he says, “Didn’t these [lines] once fit together.”) Well, this doesn’t mean that CO2 causes temperature fluctuations. There could be other variables that cause the temperatures to rise or fall. For example, “swimming pool drowning” and “ice cream sales” are directly correlated; however, this is not because ice cream causes drowning. It is because more people eat ice cream in the summer…More people swim in the summer…More people drown as more people swim.
One thing Al Gore won’t tell you, however, is that an increase in temperature can also cause an increase in CO2. How is this possible?? Well, the oceans give off more CO2 as temperatures rise. Moreover, the oceans give off more CO2 than any human ever could. So what is causing the increase in temperature? Many scientists believe that the Sun’s activity is actually causing an increase in temperature. Wow!! Who would have thought that our Solar system’s greatest source of energy is causing an increase in temperature? Maybe that explains why Mars’ ice caps are melting too.
Furthermore, the Global Warming fanatics are acting like the temperature has never changed on this Earth. Well, we’ve had over five ice ages that came and went without any help from us. There was also the “little ice age” in the middle of the past millennium where people actually ice skated on the River Thames. Then the temperatures rose before the industrial revolution. Imagine that!! In fact, the warm periods before the “Little ice age” were associated with more prosperity because crops could more easily grow. Another added bonus to the Global warming, if it is true, is that CO2 is what makes plants grow (meaning more food to feed the growing population); it is not a pollutant, so this is not surprising at all.
Lastly, whenever you hear someone say the IPCC report states that an overwhelming number of scientists support its findings on man-made Global Warming, let that person know that many of its lead authors don’t agree with its findings and spoke out about the Al Gore’s dishonesty in the Great Global Warming Swindle. The saddest part about this madness is that Al Gore has managed to convince an entire population of people not to question his statements and that there is overwhelming agreement. Nothing could be further from this inconvenient truth.

I will give you an A+ for your thesis. I am sure you took many days to do your research, so very well done. First, everyone with a brain knows that our earth has cooled and warmed naturally since an atmosphere formed, so your argument is very far off. This is another right wing argument used to make people feel stupid, thank you very much Mr. Hannity. It skews the perception and focuses attention elsewhere. Much like our invasion of Iraq and reasons behind it. Stir up enough controversy and soon enough all of america will believe it.
Can you honesly sit there and think that the humans are not having a negative impact on the environment. You actually hit the nail right on the head. The only reason Hannity and conservatives fight this with such vigor, is they do not want their precious taxes raised to protect their children’s future. Case closed. It is is good for society, do not expect these people to help create something better. Not saying liberals are god sends, but at least they make an effort.

I like how you spin the argument to that “Humans are not having a negative impact on the environment.”
First, we are talking about changing the temperature of the Plant. To that answer is emphatically no.
Please cite any data from the IPCC report that says the contrary.
Lastly, the only survey of scientists on whether man is causing global warming was of around 500 people. 56% thought it did. There was no consensus.
Now, I have no doubt that the number is less considering that news just got out that 1998 was not the warmest temperature on record. It was in the 1930s.
So this is nothing but a swindle. But, I know you really want it to be true.

My argument did not change, that was my argument. As you can see I did not write the original post, so therefore I was making my first argument.
I really have no stake in global warming being true or not so why would I really care. I am erroring on the side of caution, something this country and certain conservatives decided not to do.

If you honestly believe global warning is a myth and humans are not having a negative impact on the environment, then please, do nothing. I’m sure historians will be pleased to remember you as part of generation that destroyed their planet because they were too conceited and petty to marginally change their lifestyle. Because that’s what this is all really about, isn’t it?
