I’m Obsessed

By: Brett

My recent vacation to New York was awesome. I got to meet Reena’s entire family and also do some sight seeing. We went to a couple parks around her house. One of which was Green Lakes. It was carved out by a melting glacier. The entire lake is a deep green color and solid stone bedding. We rented a row boat for an hour on the small lake, then we walked around the entire thing in about 45 minutes. It was a very awesome area.

One of the highlights of the trip was visiting with Reena’s dad and getting to do some fishing. He brought me to the Bass Pro Shop to get myself some waders. The next night we went out on Lake Oneida. With the waders, we walked out about 100 yards and just started fishing. He gave me the run down on what to do when you get a fish and this and that. That night I caught two fish and have been addicted every since. There’s something about being in the element with the fish and just being outdoors at that time and in those conditions.

There are times when you just feel like you were meant to be in that place in that time and that was one of them. Since my little trip up north I have gone to Dicks Sporting Goods and bought a hundred dollars worth of fishing gear so I can continue this new hobby. I have always enjoyed fishing, even when I don’t get as much as a nibble, but now there is a special obsession with it. It’s so relaxing and I don’t think about anything else while I’m out there.
