Florida is full of idiots

By: Leeks

So the idiots that are Florida residents passed on Tuesday an amendment that will save the average home owner about $240 on their property taxes and allow them to bring their save the homes cap with them when they move. Talk about unfair systems. If I buy a house right now, I will see not of these benefits. I could end up paying 10,000 in property taxes and my neighbor with the same house could only be paying 2,000 What a world of haves and have nots. This is the biggest load of crap I have ever seen. How out of touch is our government. More correctly, how selfish and out of touch are Florida residents that they think this is a fix. Why not vote the amendment down and make your government actually do something. Oh wait, then you wouldn’t save $240 dollars. My question is, why am I being punished for 1) not buying a home when I was 5, 2) why are people punishing the schools and other social programs for $240 and 3) why do old people get to vote. Seriously, the elderly is this state are so out of touch. They do not have kids so they argue they should not have to pay high property taxes, well you did not put anything into social security when were young compared to what i am putting in, so why am I footing the bill for a system that will no longer exist when I need it. Call me an ageist, but that is a common theme in Florida with the retires. So bravo Florida you really are ahead of the times. I will go rent my apartment now.

And You Sir are the biggest one !

People are not moving to Florida anymore because taxes and insurance rates are too high.

1 in 8 homes now sit empty not collecting tax revenue. Maybe if we stop taxing people way too much - they will be able to afford the homes.

Stick to Fantasy Football Leeky Boy…..

  2. Leeks Says:

Wow, real nice. Never called you an idiot. Ok Olby, fist off enjoy your $240 because that is so going to fix the system for the State. Are you that blind. I wish I could wear blinders on the side of my head while I walk down the street. Show me where this amendment fixes the tax problem and I will change my position. Oh wait you cannot. I hope you enjoy that money, because the State will find another way to get it from you. So really did you save anything? If you could actually think critically, I know you computer geeks cannot do that, you will see that the new plan does not fix anything. It just makes people think that something got fixed. Much like the Ws stimulus bill. It is a great move by a politician. When the masses rise up in protest, stick a lollipop in their face. Stick to being old and always thinking you are right. Oh and someday you will be able to pick a fantasy winner, I have faith.

  3. Olbermann Says:

Lowering taxes helps fix the “tax problems”

Presidents don’t write Bills - they sign them after a Congress full of Dems writes and passes them.

Suggestions: Take a Political Science Class, mix in some Economics and get over it, Bush is our President and he outsmarts Liberals at every turn…

All Libs can do is sling mud and hope it sticks..

Like I said - stick to FF - you are good / lucky at it.

  4. Leeks Says:

Ok you are not getting my point because you vision is so clouded. Property taxes are only getting lowered for current homeowners. Not someone like me who is going to be buying a home in May. My neighbor will be paying 3,000 in taxes and I will not have the same protection and will be paying 10,000. How do you not get that. This amendment only created a larger gap. Why do you think certain people have taken this to court. It is a unfair system and could be deamned unconstitutional. Your 1960 Poli Sci and Econ classes do not apply to the world we currently live in.

I hope you enjoy owing the chinese 150 mil after the Econimic stimulus bill passes because that is who is going to hold the debt. No problem though, a chinese president in 2020 doesnt look that bad.

  5. Olbermann Says:

So you want taxes to go up on people’s homes as property values rise?

Do you know how many elderly people and families could not afford stay in their homes if this were to happen? You mean liberals always want to tax people into homelessness.

Please don’t put my granny in the streets! HAVE SOME COMPASSION FOR GODS SAKE.

And yeah - the economic stimulus package is kind of silly - I was just pointing out that it is not just GWBs bill. In fact the liberals in the Senate are fighting to make it bigger.

Well written ! There should be a re-call of the governer and a turnover in Tallahassee. They said they were concerned about property taxes and would do something about it. Now its the peoples turn. There should be enough support and energy for a mass revolt. The politicions will continue being shrills for big business as long as the people sit and do nothing. Once the rallys start they will
    gain momentum.
And The governer’s retort in front of CNN; ” I will make a task force to study the situation’ should be me with a broom.

I call for 20 or more candidates for every congress seat. And the candidates should be our neighbors. Not career polititions with styled hair.
