Blockbuster Will Steal From You!

By: Brett

I received two emails from Blockbuster this morning, saying they just charged my card twice for $21.95. Once for the failure to return Man of Fire and another for Seabiscuit (Never watch the movie so I can’t say if it was good or not). Now I haven’t been a member of Blockbuster Online for over a month, ever since they decided to just jack up the prices soley based on how many times people would exchange movies in the store. My plan was going to jump from $14 a month to $25 a month. I thought it was a great deal at 14 bucks a month and it probably still is at 25 but there was just something about jacking up my rates just because I like to exchange the movies to the store.

Moving on, I checked my account online and noticed that I had received other movies after the two described, so therefore I had to have returned them to the store, or else I wouldn’t get additional rentals. I immediately called up customer service and the lady I talked to was very helpful and noticed that the movies were returned to the store, and just must have not be returned to the circulating center. Not my fault, they refunded my money.

It makes me wonder though how many people will just disregard the email or not receive the email anymore and never really notice a change in their account. I loved my Blockbuster Online membership while it lasted but ever since I declined to upgrade my account, they immediately stopped sending DVDs, even though I had already paid for the entire month.
