Another Setback
By: Brett
Today I received some more bad news. I will be on the shelf for at least 7-10 days of absolutely no throwing. I get to run through all of the drills do the conditioning but don’t get to throw. With this news it seems as if I might be spending the first part of the season down in Florida rehabbing in extended spring training.
It has been miserable going to the field and sitting on a damn training table the entire time. With what happened at the beginning and now this, it’s been a rough month so far. The doctor said I have a strained pectoral muscle and that I need to rest and go through a bunch of exercises before I’m allowed to throw again. It’s been really difficult to try and make a team with a bum shoulder. It just got to the point where it was so unbearable to throw, I had to say something. When I threw in the BP session the other day it felt alright but for awhile now I’ve never felt like I can really let one go. Hopefully I will get over this quick enough and get on with the season already.

And here I thought you had to have pectoral muscles in order to strain them. Who knew…
That sucks tho, dude. Get it back and make your triumphant return!!

On that note, isn’t this like my five year old nephew throwing out his arm? Sorry had to go there, I mean your brother did and he is supposed to love you. Take care man. Not sure why you are bumbed about extended spring training though. Playing in games that do not matter, in the hottest part of the day sounds like fun to me.
